Settings

1. Employee cards

ℹ️ An employee is different from a user. If you want to create a user account with access to the tool, please refer to this article.

  • User: a person who has access to Mercateam

  • Employee: a person who has an employee profile (personal information, contract, skills, certifications/authorizations, etc.) in Mercateam

In this tutorial, you will find all the steps to:

  1. Create an employee

  2. Archive or delete an employee

  3. Manage employee contracts

  4. Manage categories

ℹ️ Archived employee data will be deleted after 3 years.

2. Skills library

ℹ️ A skill is an operational capability that an employee can perform in a work situation, at a defined level of proficiency.

In this tutorial, you will find all the steps to:

  1. Create a skill

  2. Manage the level legend

  3. Edit / delete a skill

💡 Best practices

  • Define skill levels
This helps distinguish between employees who have different levels of mastery.

  • Link a team to a skill
When you go to your team overview, you can filter the view to show only the skills related to your team. This is only possible if, in the skill settings, you specify which team(s) the skill is linked to.

  • Specify the trainers/evaluators for a skill
This makes it clear who is authorized to train and assess your employees. However, assigning trainers/evaluators through the creation/editing of a skill will not automatically grant them that skill as well.

  • Set the validity period of a skill
This allows you to be notified when a skill is about to expire so you can plan training in advance and ensure knowledge is maintained.

Daily monitoring and management

In this tutorial, you will find all the steps to:

  • Manage your teams using dashboards and key performance indicators

  • Access essential information for each employee

  • Track and manage the team’s know-how using skills, authorizations, and job position matrices

  • Quickly search for an employee or a skill
