1 - Collect the data needed to build Mercateam platform

To build a platform that reflects your site, we first need to collect your data.

Type

Necessary informations

Employee Data

- Employee ID
- Last name
- First name
- Team

Optional but recommended: Job

Optional but recommended: Contract

Optional but recommended: Entry date into the company

Optional but recommended: End date if short term contract

Skills Matrices

- Employee ID
- Last name
- First name
- Mastered skill, expiration date (optional) and associated level

Clearance Matrices

- Employee ID
- Last name
- First name
- Mastered clearance, expiration date

To go further, you can already start thinking about the Mercateam architecture.

Additional information

Sector

• General sector related to the activity of your site (Production, Operations…)
• Production Unit
• Activity sector (Packaging, Maintenance…)

Team

• Autonomous production unit
• Activity sector (Packaging, Maintenance…)
• HR team (temporary workers…)
• Hourly team (Night Team, …)
• Type of product

1 team =
1 planning
1 skills matrix
1 clearance matrix
1 workstation matrix
An employee can only be part of one team

Workstation

• Production line
• Function (Facilitator, line driver…)
• Profession (Security manager…)
• Machine
• Schedule (Line 1 MORNING, Line 1 NIGHT…)
• Product / product reference

Define if 1 position = 1 skill or if a position is a set of necessary skills/certifications

Substation

• Station (operator 1, operator 2…)
• Machine
• Schedule
• Sub-activity
• Product / product reference

Optional
If substations are associated with workstations, define if 1 substation = 1 skill or if a substation is a set of necessary skills/clearances

Skill

• Qualification
• Internal technical know-how (mastery of a machine…)
• General knowledge (Safety, quality, mastery of Mercateam…)

The concept of level is associated with a skill (as many levels as necessary)

ℹ️ Method to standardize skills at group level

  • [Team Level] Deploy Mercateam and digitize the skills matrices based on existing ones (and on the experience of other teams)

  • [Site Level] Organize workshops with team leaders to harmonize the standards of skills in the tool

  • [Group Level] Choose representatives to share best practices, identify gaps in the different sites and build an action plan to homogenize skills. We can of course accompany you at each stage.

We recommend that you centralize the existing in the tool before approaching the mass standardization step: this allows for an overview;

2 - Defining user needs and roles in Mercateam

Mercateam lets you restrict user rights. To do this, we recommend that you identify the roles and needs of users in relation to the various functions of the tool.

Below is an example of needs & roles mapping - not exhaustive
